Bio:
As an entrepreneur and principal of LA Jones & Associates (marketing and public relations) she has spent many years coordinating marketing campaigns and special events for local, regional, state, and national businesses and organizations. As a marketing professional, LaNiece spent three years at CNET, an online media technology publishing company, where she managed online and offline technology industry campaigns. She was the project manager on the inaugural National TechiesDay campaign, a public affairs program celebrating technology professionals at local events in over 20 cities nationally. As a media advertising representative for AT&T Broadband, LaNiece was the recipient of numerous local and national industry awards, including the prestigious 2002 Cable Advertising Bureau Awards for the San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI) "Our Community" Campaign. While working as campaign assistant on Dezie Woods-Jones' State Assembly campaign in 1992, LaNiece joined Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA). LaNiece currently serves as Executive Director of the BWOPA's Training Institute for Leadership Enrichment. In 2002, the BWOPA Oakland/Berkeley chapter awarded LaNiece the prestigious Ella Hill Hutch Award for her enormous energy and the leadership. Her major goal is to increase young adult participation in the BWOPA and the community at large.
